| Description (Modern): | Matthews (1993) p. 66 no. 33: 'U.20083. UM 35.1.671. Not previously published. Provenance unknown. H >3.0, L >4.1. Two rollings. Symbols: ?U4 DUG3, U4 U4 ?E2, AN leg cross, ?. Sealing 5.8 x 5.2 x 1.8. Reverse has curve di. 10.0, and impressions of leather creases encircled by two rows of string, sd di, 0.2, sg di. 0.25. TP 0.4, SSD: Z. Functional type: pot with leather covering.' UE 3 p. 19 no. 42: 'Squatting monkey, with head in profile, and widespread legs and arms. With the left he catches a scorpion by the tail and with the right a flying bird. Cf. the woman squatting between two scorpions (Nos. 268-70). U. 14639. SIS 6 (?). U. 20083. Four fragments.' UPenn db 'UE III: a pictographic inscription which is almost a duplicate of the one above. The same cross sign divided into four quarters round a central circle, with the addition of two legs, two hands, and two stars. An elaborate UB sign with four horns on the four sides of a square divided into four main fields and four smaller ones. Pictographic signs of Ur (?), Kesh, and Adab. U.13943.' |
